CJ405 - Underwater Criminal Investigation

​​This is a special topics course offered on weekends throughout this semester and open currently enrolled Limestone University students, as well as local public safety professionals regardless of university enrollment status.  This precertification course provides an introduction to the methodology and policies for the proper identification, and processing of underwater crime scenes and the evidence contained therein.  It is intended to further the investigative skills garnered from previous courses.  This course will also entail preliminary certifications for SCUBA diving.  The SCUBA certification modules will be taught in tandem with the course by a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certified instructor with Dr. Lux (a PADI Master Diver) assisting.

​This course will require additional to cover PADI certification(s), and rental of dive equipment.  It will also require travel to and from local dive sites to complete course modules.

​If circumstances allow, this course may provide an opportunity for extended travel to dive locations.​

Prerequisites
Successful completion of CJ308 with a final grade of “C” or better; or a certified law enforcement officer; or permission of the instructor; and completion of the waiver and release form for Limestone University and PADI; and completion of the required medical forms and documents for PADI
