Course Loads

A full-time student carries 12 or more credit hours per semester. Any non-resident student carrying less than 12 semester hours is considered to be part-time. A resident student must carry at least 12 semester hours (appeals for exceptions may be addressed to the Provost and the Office of Student Services). Day students maintaining a “B” average may be allowed to take up to 21 semester hours, at a charge of $250.00 per credit hour for each hour over 18, with the permission of the appropriate Dean.  Main Campus students must also adhere to same online policy per online term.  First half and second half courses must adhere to the same rules as online format - no more than two or a combination of the two in one term without overload approval.

Online students maintaining a "B" average or better may be permitted to take more than two courses per term and may be permitted to take up to 18 semester hours in a semester. Students wishing to be enrolled in more than two online courses or at any one time must receive overload approval from the appropriate Dean.

No student will be allowed to be enrolled in more than three Online courses at any one time. Overload requests must be received at least one week before the session or term begins.

Please note: If a student enrolls in an overload without the written permission of the appropriate Dean, he or she will be withdrawn from the class which caused the overload.
